Maurice is a wizard from a story that I have been playing with for a long long time. He is not a very good wizard and he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. I always imagine him as being sort of no-plussed constantly. This picture is simply the latest in a line of attempts I have at random intervals to capture whats in my head about him.

Hello and thanks for visiting!

I hope you find something to interest and maybe inspire you in the stuff I plonk here. You will find that I love sharing thoughts on the process and techniques of creating images.

I work as a professional illustrator and my clients have included people like Macuser, Vodafone and Capital One. Here, however, I am simply out to have fun, share and perhaps connect with some of you out there who may have visited here – leave me a comment or two to let me know you have called round!

You can visitย  which is my main portfolio site, and I have a brand new shop with some nice things to grab here.

Oh, and my spotify playlists are here!

Love the way this guy turned out – particularly his ace hair! A big clump of black brushwork just dolloped on his bonce! The line feels light and the colour airy. Really enjoyed working him up, since he was once of those drawings that took no time at all and really proves for me that less is more. SUUUUUMO!!!

aah, the yoof of today.

OK, so I was feeling a little cynical about the youthful generation when I did this drawing. I do rather enjoy drawing fat figures though and the smeary messy icecream colour against the pig pink face is lovely!

I was thinking about stuff like the Adams Family I think, when I did this. The spiders make me giggle have to say. He started out as a little doodle in Painter using the sumi brush and a face just kind of appeared.
